Fried Apples

One of our favorite Fall desserts is Fried Apples – a recipe we developed through trial and error. We actually call it our secret family recipe! When I asked Mark if I could share it, he was really hesitant…so let’s keep it our secret.

4 apples peeled, cored, and sliced

3 Tbsp butter or dairy free substitute

1 tsp vanilla

¼ cup pure maple syrup

Melt the butter frying pan using high heat. Toss in apples and lightly stir until they just begin to soften. Do not over stir. Make sure they brown on at least one of the sides. Fold in the vanilla and syrup. Simmer for a couple minutes. Pour a healthy serving over a scoop of frozen vanilla yogurt. Eat hot.

Leftovers make a great topping for your oatmeal the next morning!
